They allow you to adjust color tones (modes), light intensity (dimming), and night mode. The light can be controlled together with other lights using a single remote control. It remembers the last setting after being turned off by the remote, as well as when operated by a wall switch - provided the light remains on for more than 10 seconds and off for more than 10 seconds.
